Educating My Client

So you want a DEEP TISSUE Massage?  Do you REALLY know what is meant by deep tissue?  You are probably thinking, no pain, no gain.  The "no pain, no gain" standard is a myth in massage.   Massage does not need to be painful to be effective.

During a deep tissue massage, the tissue should be entered with ease while gradually increasing the pressure.  Meaning the tissue should be warmed up before the therapist dives in.  Applying too much pressure too soon creates a painful experience for the client.

Some Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage include:

  • Un-stick stuck muscle fiber and fascia tissue
  • Remove toxins
  • Relax and soothe muscle and fascia tissue
  • Eliminate trigger points
  • Increase circulation - blood and lymph
  • Prevent injury
  • Reduce or eliminate chronic pain
  • Improve mobility
